GENERAL INFORMATION;
Newspaper recycling is going well, this requires no effort on the troop’s part and additional newspaper collections will increase our income. Please no plastic bags. The amount of other trash has increased, this just penalizes the Troop as to the amount of money we collect.
A flyer to advertise the
newspaper recycling has been developed, duplicated and is available
for distribution in the general neighborhood. The number to call when
the recycle bin is full is 770 424 6397, (after hours leave a message)
Web site is up and running, check out www.bsatroop1.net . All types of information is available for the troop at this site and it will be kept more current than a monthly newsletter/meeting minutes can be. Items such as calendar of events for the troop and also the Covered Bridge District with merit badge clinics, etc;.
PARENTS NOTE: This site
is your best way to keep abreast of the schedule and needs of your scout.
The newspaper recycling
program is going well. Please do not put anything in the container except
newspapers.

of activity.
Santhosh Karnik has reactivated
his status in the Troop, to try to complete his Eagle requirements.
Santhosh was not present at the meeting and he has not presented his
plans for an Eagle project.

September 20th is

two adult volunteers to help her that day.
With Kevin Gogarty moving out
of the area, the Senior Patrol Leader position needs to be filled. Until
the next Troop election the committee has selected Sam Hogan to fill
this spot. This is a critical position for each meeting in that the
Senior Patrol Leader initates the opening formation.

Denise Settle made the Treasurer’s report; the troop has $n,nnn.nn in the treasury.
The troop has purchased a new
3 burner camp stove, a portable “kitchen” setup for camping, and
carrying cases for the old camp stoves.
Greg Hogan is trying to schedule
another camping trip this fall and is looking at a back packing camping
trip sometime in November.
Mike Nagle wanted to publicly
commend James Settle on the planning and execution of his Eagle Scout
Court of Honor. It was well planned and executed; CONGRAGULATIONS JAMES.
The Troop Committee recognizes
the need to enlarge the membership of Troop One, any recruitment of
Scouts and/or suggestions would be appreciated. We have an excellent
program, good facilities and support, just not enough scouts to really
give them the leadership experience that would help them so much.
There being no further business;
Greg Hogan made the motion to adjourn at; 8:25 PM.
